What's New - November 2024

Our recently updated Scan Interface has been very well received by our clients. This month we've introduced the following new services and improvements:

  • Scenarios tab to explore alternative futures

  • Cards and Card Decks for better understanding and presenting future challenges

  • Simplified Modeller interface

Scenario Generator to explore Alternative Futures

With our new Scenario Generator you can use sliders to set two parameters: Mood and Timeframe to dive into possible futures.

Set the Mood slider at any position on a continuum between Fearful and Hopeful and the Timeframe slider by decade between 2025 and 2065 to tailor or vary the output and explore a narrative that's of interest for you and/or your organization.

Your scenario can be saved in your library and also downloaded for use outside the Shaping Tomorrow platform.

It's very interesting how much value can be obtained by using a couple of simple sliders.

Cards and Card Decks

We have introduced a facility to create Cards for easy export to Powerpoint-like presentation systems, and/or to collate them into Card Decks for the quick presentation of ideas.

To initiate a Card, click the button (bottom right within the Narrative tab or bottom right after running a Scenario), or wherever you see the icon.

The Card is made up of the following elements:

  • the Title of the Card

  • an AI-generated illustration visualizing the topic

  • a Subheading

  • a 'Killer Fact' with a linked source to add perspective

  • a possible Optimistic future

  • a possible Pessimistic future

  • a Fear, Caution, Uncertainty, Confidence or Hope depending on the mood-slider position

  • a possible action to consider and

  • An open open question related to the topic

Here's an example:

Cards can be downloaded as images for easy import into your slides' software and/or can be collated into Card Decks accessible within 'My Library' and downloadable as PDFs.

You can also make Card Deck within the co-pilot tools simply by clicking next to the title of your tables.

We find the cards very useful for group work of various kinds and for cross-team communication.

Our thanks go to George Quezada, an independent futurist and member of our network for his initial inspiration and initiating the related thinking.

Simplifies 'Modeller' interface

We have simplified the Modeller interface so that the main six perspectives now have their own top-level buttons. If required, you can continue to access any of the others like before by clicking the top-right 'Advanced' button.

We hope you find additional value from these enhancements and we look forward to hearing your feedback and further ideas.
